The rest, as they say, is history. Upon purchase of the shop, space became available right behind it, and Team Crafty was able to expand MadWool into a Spinner's Haven - a class room area with room for a table, spinning wheels, and loads of fiber and a drum carder. We were closed for two weeks between May 19 and June 1, 2011 to refinish this room- it received a fresh coat of paint, a new restaurant sink for washing wool/dyeing, and a beautiful new bamboo floor. The New MadWool was born! We strive to carry unique yarns by small companies and independent artists. Don't let that scare you! We also carry 'basics' and really do have something for every taste. Stop by and check us out...you won't be disappointed! We are happy to help you on any project, regardless of where the yarn came from, so if we can assist, please stop by. We have open knitting/spinning on Tuesday nights called 'Stitch and Beach' from 6-9 PM where you can bring your project for help or company. If you are a fiber artist or local farmer with fiber/yarn, please contact us-we may have space for your product. Our MadWool illustrations were drawn by the talented Patricia Mulholland. She is an amazingly talented artist, and a pretty great knitter too. We also have a Ravelry group: http://www.ravelry.com/groups/madison-wool - please join, share your projects, and interact with other MadWoolers! View fullsize
